  • Quite good

Clarke generally got the science spot on in his books, and this one is no different. His sociological commentary could be very hit or miss though. It tends to be very western-centric and belies a massive ignorance of eastern religions a philosophies, and it shows here in this work. Such a pity considering that he actually spent a major portion of his life in Sri Lanka. On the whole, this is a satisfactory book if one is willing to overlook the allegory and occasionally weak social/religious commentary.

Arthur C Clarke's mesmerizing tale of the humanity's destiny. A classic of its genre not to be missed.
