  • Children of Liberty

Disappointed at first, but when I realised it was the prequel to Bellagrand I was a more forgiving. Bellagrand is a bit better but nothing compares to The Bronze Horseman.

  • Wonderful, breathtaking read

It is the turn of the century, dawn of a new time, beginnings of a new society and a world of revolutionary thinking. The details are excellent. Emerging freedom of the people, and a moving away from the Victorian time. Dawning of the individual. And Gina, fifteen, newly landed from Italy, meets Harry and Ben, young men of tradition and business. She is a thunderbolt of genuineness, young hope, resourcefulness, and beauty. And everything that Harry and Ben ever knew or believed in will change.....don't want to say too much! But for me this was a read that gathered suspense, momentum, anticipation, dread, love, betrayal, unimaginable loss, societal power, and wonderment, such that I both savored every page and sighed when it was over. Left me reeling with the implications of the finish.

  • Children of Liberty

I love Paullina Simons. Her best book by far is The Bronze Horseman. This is actually a prequel to that. The story of how Alexander's parents met .
