  • New Paranormal Cozy Series prequel

This story is a short prequel to a new paranormal cozy series. In this story, we are introduced to several main characters including Mia, our new heroine. This should be a good series judging by the great series' the author has done. This one is set in a small and magical town between Sun Valley and Boise, Idaho. Plenty of room for many interesting mysteries. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

  • New Series Intro Novella

Lynn Cahoon is one of my must read authors, so I was excited to see a novella for her new Kitchen Witch series. It’s probably me, but while this was a quick read, it was also seemed to drag on a bit. It’s hard to write a shorter story as an introduction to a new series. I’m still looking forward to the first full length entry in this series and know once I get a better introduction to the characters, I’m going to love it as much as I love her others series.

  • A fun introduction to a new series!

Chili Cauldron Curse is a quick, fun introduction to Lynn Cahoon's new paranormal cozy mystery series, Kitchen Witch Mysteries. We meet Mia Malone, a kitchen witch who is back in her hometown of Magic Springs, Idaho, to assist her grandmother and her friend in getting the local food bank in order before the new school year begins. When local coven leader, Dorian Alexander, who also happens to be her grandmother's boyfriend, is found dead in the food bank, Mia becomes determined to find the culprit. Will she be able to solve the murder and get the food bank up and running again? This delightful prequel was a great way to introduce the characters and give readers a feel of the community. The mystery was a little light, but that's to be expected given the length of the story. It still kept me guessing and the killer's identity was a surprise to me. All in all, I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this author's books and look forward to continuing on with this series. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

  • Cute new series

Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to review this arc for my honest review. This is a novella, and the first book in a new series. We get introduced to the main character Mia and the residents of Magic Springs, Idaho. Mia has come to town because her grandma asked her for help cleaning up and organizing the local food bank. While organizing Mia comes across the body of Dorian Alexander the leader of the local coven of witches who happens to be dating Mia's grandma. The town is full of both magical residents and the "Muggles" which is a term they started to use after Harry Potter came out.. Which I thought was pretty great. This was a cute introduction to Magic Spings and Mia. It was a fast and fun read, and I'll be checking out the next book in the series, which is supposed to be a full length novel.

  • New Mystery Series

3.5/5 stars I received a copy of Chili Cauldron Curse through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Chili Cauldron Curse is a novella kicking off the new Kitchen Witch series. In this novella, we meet Mia, a witch, who is visiting her Grans and helping the town get the food pantry in order for its reopening. While there, she stumbles upon a body and discovers the murderer. This novella sets up the upcoming series and leaves the reader wanting more. I like Mia a lot, as well as the other characters and the setting. I enjoyed this novella, but am ready to get into the first full book of the series and see where this new world is going to take Mia. I feel like there wasn’t much mystery in this story, Mia just happens to stumble upon the answers without searching for the clues. There may be a lack of mystery but it does do a good job of introducing characters and setting the scene for the full blown series. Chili Cauldron Curse is a good novella that sets up the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
