  • Satisfying Read

I found this book to be much more interesting and a more satisfying read than the first one in the series. The characters developed more although I was disappointed that Rosie’s step-father fell so far from the pedestal of calm, reasoned, and sensible that he had been placed on in “Tremarnock”. The research on scams enacted on elderly and vulnerable people was excellent and was written realistically and with frightening accuracy. There were many scenes and incidents in this book that contributed to the overall plot and they were woven together very well. I enjoyed this book and may have even enjoyed it more as a standalone novel independent of its predecessor. I recommend it to people who would like to know more about the subtleties involved when people fall into the trap of a scam. May all such people be blessed to be part of a strong supportive community like Tremarnock.

  • Enjoyable

I enjoyed all the familiar characters and new ones as well. The scam was interesting and added something other than romances. One thing that I have noticed is that there was a mixup of names and not sure if this is a Kobo error or if it is in the original hard copy of the book. I am now reading the 3rd book!

  • What a great book!

This is a lovely story...some mystery, romance and realistic adventures. With the character development in this second book, I couldn't put it down. Strong plot, engaging and interesting. Looking forward to the third instalment!

  • The Cornish Guest House

I was glad when I got to the end. I felt the story and details were a bit too long. It was no surprise to me who was responsible for the fraudulent activities against the eldery citzens. I will read the next book in the series. I'm anxious to find out what happens next in the lives of the people of Tremarnock.

  • A Great Read

Thoroughly enjoyabe and well written. Just the right amount of suspense and drama. Characters that one can identify with. Red flag for use of F word. I look forward to the next in the series, nonetheless.
