Fun, Creative, Very Enjoyable, Low-Angst Romance

Cinderella in the Sheets was the first book I’ve read by Reece Pine so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was very impressed. This one was creative and held my attention throughout. There were a number of interesting twists and spins to the story which worked really well to make the plot fresh. The surprises were lovely and I enjoyed not being sure how it would all work out. There's a pleasing cadence to Pine’s writing style, just a quick example: ”The low hubbub of tipsy tourists clawing their way along the walls back to their rooms sounded far away, on other floors. Everything was otherwise as peaceful and still as 1 a.m. ever was, anywhere.” Isn’t that nice? The author has a unique and fresh way of phrasing things which drew me in, and before I knew it I was almost at the end of the story. A good part of the book is about the relationships Presley has with the supporting characters. These guys all have their own stories going on which were interesting and left me wanting more (if they don’t already, maybe Rico and Earle will get their own book?). I also liked the way the step-dad is described and then maintains his place in the background… that worked really well. It’s clear Pine knows these characters really well. Just as an aside, I love it when a book starts out with some really hot sex and then grows the story from there - it’s one of my favorite tropes and Cinderella in the Sheets totally pulls it off. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick moving, creative, low-angst romance. It is well written and I’m looking forward to reading more by Reesce Pine.
