  • An excellent book

I could not put this book down. As being a year or two younger than Davy and brought up in the same suburbs of Melbourne between the wars and during the depression, I found this a most interesting and enjoyable book and I was able to relate to it very well. My first job was a copy boy in the Melbourne Herald so that was relevant too.. My own wartime experiences were similar to Jack's but I did get to New Guinea and Indonesia.Would strongly recommend it to anyone of my vintage although there are not many of us left now. I will now read the two sequels.

    Thanks for your feedback!
