  • Cat lovers delight

as the owner of a black firecracker, just like Cleo, l found this book enchanting . I identified with all the ups & downs of the author & her family ,when trying to come to terms with a little bundle of black mischief. Amusing, heartbreaking, it runs the gamut of emotions.

Simply the best book I have ever read. It made me laugh and cry. What a wonderful writer Helen Brown is, she has the most amazing way with words. She certainly ticked all of my boxes.

I’m a cat person myself and can identify with Helen & Rob. My last one was Hori - short for Horace - and while reading about Cleo, I felt echo’s of Hori all over again. He also helped me too when my husband became ill and died. So I can truthfully say that I can really identify with Helen, her family & Cleo. This is one book I had trouble putting down.....

This is the most "real" portrayal of the loss of a child I have ever read. It was poignant and touching. I believe it's based on fact and therefore that's why it was so well done. I am a parent who lost a son too and even though I enjoyed the book, found some of the cat bits a bit odd. But that's what it's all about at the end of the day. I also have an adored cat , now 15 and going strong.
