too long, lost its way a bit at times.

struglled with the style of this book, but found the narrative of family and relationshp to be revealing.

    Rambling but engrossing

Just didn't quite get it. It got me in and I had to read to the end but was still scratching me head when I finished. Strangely I would recommend it to others but with a caveat that not every issue is resolved, not every thread is followed through but each part is extremely relatable to everyday Australian life during that period.

    Wow

I lived that era, oh how true it was. Thoroughly enjoyable read, I just couldn't put the book down.

    A Family History

Not sure that this book was for me. It is the tale of a family growing up in Perth, WA, in the 1960s; written around actual events at the time. It reads more like a family history than a novel. I did find in parts that I had to put it down and come back to it later.

    Cloud Street

A timeless Australian classic. Wonderful and heartbreaking all in one.
