    Awesome Story!

This book was not at all what I had expected. So many feelings came from this one. The book is written in two parts. Part One being from Aubrey’s POV and Part Two being from Chance’s. I liked how Penelope and Vi split the book. It totally worked for the story and it was like reading two stories in one. Part One was funny, sexy and fun. Part Two was where the unhappy feelings and tears come in. Both parts together though tell a story of happenstance. Two people traveling down a path and being thrown together. As the story unfolds, you really get to see what a cocky bastard Chance is. Oh, but what a sexy, sweet, funny cocky one he is. I liked him instantly and was swooning from the bobble head moment on. Plus I really have a thing for accents and loved what the authors did to help the reader hear it in their heads. *sigh* I just wish I could hear Chance say my name. Aubrey was a great heroine. She had spunk, sass and knew just how to rile Chance up. She had a big heart and it showed so much in Part One. Now, in part two, I could’ve jumped in my Kindle and given her a piece of my mind, but I’ll leave that for you to read and understand. I’m so glad I read this one. I devoured it. Never once putting it down. You have got to read this one. You will love Chance and all his cocky self. You may even fall in love with a goat. Awesome story and it deserves all of the 5 Stars that I have awarded it.

    NICE Chance!!!!

OK I have to first start off by saying everyone HAS to read this book!!! This story had me laughing and smiling from page 1 and from there I couldn't put it down. I kept saying just one more chapter, just one more chapter until I was finished....that's how good it was....no...it was AMAZINGLY good!!! This collaboration of two very talented authors, Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland was a match made in heaven....two amazing and brilliant writers who brought this adventure of a lifetime between Chance "Cocky" and Aubrey to life. Without giving too much away, Chance and Aubrey meet at a rest stop on their way to California and embark on a road trip where for one week they definitely are on an adventure that will both change their lives forever!!! This story was so funny and the one liners were amazing....talk about clever....I stopped and thought wow that was a good one!!! It just kept getting better and better as it was witty, charming, intriguing, captivating, sexy and yes very, very HOT!!! It was a feel good story but at the same time it had me gasping in shock with the surprises leaving you to ponder what will happen next. It tugged at my heart and I am sure it will capture yours as well. I highly recommend this story and I would give this 10 stars if I could...5 for Penelope Ward and 5 for Vi Keeland!! This is a must read and you will only be disappointed if you don't read it....please give Chance and Aubrey a chance....you won't regret it!!! Bravo to both Penelope and Vi for a job well done and I hope to read more from you two in the future!!!

Everything you want ... plus a goat!

When reading the synopsis then actually reading the book... this one turned into something so brilliantly unexpected that turned quickly into one of my favorite books of 2015! We follow Aubrey has she treks across country to start anew and along the way runs into Chance. The chemistry is beyond hot between the two and you can feel it burn even though Chance tries to avoid it at all costs. But Aubrey falls hard and fast for this Cocky Bastard. Chance is holy alpha sex on a stick romantic. I love how he was written and my heart melted and broke at the same time when you get farther into the book. This book had me laughing, crying and yelling which to me is the sign of a well written book. Though the first part is Aubrey's PoV and the second part is Chance's you do get quite the feel for both characters. I honestly devoured this book so quickly, I did not want it to end what so ever! The fun part is the one thing that connects the them... Esmerelda Snowflake. I never laughed so hard when it came to that and loved how it just melded into the book so well! I felt the book was beyond well written and enjoyed every moment of it!

    Hot Commodity

From the first page until the last you're wrapped up in the deliciousness that is Chance "Cocky Bastard" Bateman. He and Aubrey first meet in a store where there was a mishap with a bobble-head. From there on you're taken on a cross country road trip that had me wishing I was sitting in the back seat just to get a up close and personal view of this hilariously funny couple. Along the way you realize that what you're reading is the beginning of a love unlike no other, they have wonderful conversations where that got to know one another also witty banter and undeniable chemistry that you can't help but fall in love with this story. The best part of the story was the unexpected passenger they picked up and how even he realized that Chance and Aubrey was meant to be. If you're looking for a fantastic read that will have you laughing out loud and feeling all types of emotions definitely pick this book up. From two creatives minds I can't wait to see what they plan next.

    Cocky Bastard totally delivers!

I have a love/hate relationship with surprises. I either love them or hate them. There's no in between. Finding out an author you love to read has written a new book is always a good surprise. Learning that two of them have written a book together is an even bigger one. There's always concerns before you read a book if they'll be able to mesh their different writing styles. To be honest, I had very few doubts about this writing duo, but the few I had were totally unfounded. From the first page to the last, every word in this book had my undivided attention. I couldn't get enough of the story and I completely loved Chance and Aubrey. I loved Aubrey for her determination and how she valued herself. She wasn't any one's fool and she truly had a heart of gold. Chance was a bit of a mystery in the beginning. I really enjoyed Chance's sense of humor. He was laid back compared to a driven Aubrey. I learned so much about him from his actions. I loved seeing Chance and Aubrey verbally spar with one another; their banter was witty and funny. The attraction between them was easy to see and so was the tension between them! I found that the story was really well written. Both Penelope and Vi have distinct writing styles. I wasn't able to tell who wrote which part as it all flowed together seamlessly. I loved how the story kept the high intensity and emotional depth both are known for while mixing in laughter and steam. I wouldn't call this a "light" read but nor would I categorize it as "dark" either. It's the perfect balance of realism with a fictional escape. I enjoyed being in both of their heads. It really allowed me to get a feel for who Aubrey and Chance really were, what motivated them, and how they were feeling. Cocky Bastard delivers on the promise of a great story. It made me laugh, swoon, fan myself when things got hot, and even get teary eyed a time or two. It's a great story of finding love unexpectedly and then trying to handle the challenges that come to you in the best way possible. It's angsty and yet not overly so. I loved the twists in the story because I didn't see them coming. Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland did well with this surprise. I hope they'll write more together in the future.
