  • Definitely an Adventure

Evangeline Anderson’s Companion 3000 is a very entertaining novel. As we’re told in her introduction, our heroine Leita McLain runs a small mining company on the outskirts of the Centauri solar system. Having been badly burned by the men in her life and being very lonely spending her life alone, she decides to purchase a Companion droid. The droid is basically a cybernetic sex slave. But, through a series of mishaps, what she gets instead is our hero Pierce Branson, a man with a bounty on his head. Convicted of a crime he didn’t commit, Pierce makes a last-minute decision to pretend to be the Companion she ordered instead. The third character is Schneider, a Tarbian male about the size of a cat. Although I felt sorry for Leita, being all alone since she was a teenager when her parents were killed, I admired her spirit and her ability to continue the mining company. I also know from flashbacks that Pierce is indeed innocent, but is forced to spend his life on the run. Schneider acts both as friend and confidant in the beginning, but he doesn’t like Pierce from the moment he arrives. Since Pierce is playing the part of a sex slave, Ms. Anderson’s steamy scenes are absolutely hot, and there is also the angst she is famous for. As the plot progresses, the couple has to face challenges that eventually become life-threatening. Their world is intense, but I just loved the parts when Leita finally confided in Pierce. I did enjoy reading Companion 3000. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the characters and reading their adventure. This book is a stand-alone novel, complete in itself, and easily leads to a bit of daydreaming! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • Finding her person

I love what this author does with SciFi, and she didn’t let me down with this book. The characters are fantastic! I love how they were able to connect even with Pierce playing a part to stay safe. I actually think it made it easier for them to bond. But true to form, what’s a good HEA without some bad guys and emotional angst. This book is a fantastic quick read that kept me enthralled and entertained from the beginning. I look forward to reading the next book by the author.

  • Loved

I loved the story of Pierce and Leita. The author really did an amazing job on this story. I love the direction she took. I bet Pierce never would of dreamed he would find himself as a pleasure doll. Leita probably never dreamed she would end up something like Pierce either. The chemistry between these two was amazing. He was everything she needed and vise versa. My heart broke for how lonely Leita was but I could also see how lonely Pierce was as well. This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read it.

  • Companion 3000

Companion 3000 - Evangeline Anderson This book is one I read years ago under “For Her Pleasure”, it’s been updated, new cover and better the second time around. A very original sci-fi romance adventure the story centers around Leila, a young woman running her parents mining operation on an asteroid. Her parents died years ago but she has bravely and expertly managed to work the droids and the business on her own, her only company a creature called a Tarbian (like a talking smart mouthed cat). Leita decides to treat herself to a pleasure droid, a simple one that she could afford. What she gets is way more than she ordered. A huge, hunky sexy, helpful male “droid” who becomes so much more than a sexual companion. Pierce is a space trader who has been set up in a deal gone wrong. They put a huge bounty on him and he has been living on the run. Of course he hides out in the Pleasure Droid factory and ends up being the one shipped to Leita. Believing he’s a free upgrade. There is adventure, danger and of course some emotional angst in this fun, sexy page turning book. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the Companion 3000.
