  • Couldn't be bothered finishing the book

Long, bombastic and over the top. Why use 21st century obscenities against post-crucifixion characters? A self-indulgent work, neither enlightening nor informative. If I had bought it across the counter I would have asked for my money back. Maybe Kobo would oblige?

  • Great read for the times of Saul/Paul

As a follower of Christ (a Christian?) I found this book a great experience. Although I do not appreciate some of the foul language, it was a possible portrayal of some of the language of the day even then. It was written in fiction form, but described the life and times of the Apostles as they would have experienced it. I think Christos is closer to God (although he may not admit it) than many of us in this day and age. His portrayal of Saul/Paul, Timothy, Thomas and others probably is not what really happened - but who really knows. Listening to studies of Paul in the book of Romans at the moment so it has been a worthwhile read to get a mental picture of some of the ways in which people lived and suffered 2,000 years ago.

  • Damascus

A great sweeping account of the lives & travails of Paul( Saul) & Thomas. I learnt a lot & enjoyed reading it, despite the details of the cruelty & filth that the people of those times had to endure.
