  • Dark Eden

Really good science fiction which successfully creates a world separate from ours through the clever use of language and character. Looking forward to the other books in the series.

  • A classic from page one

This is beautifully told story of culture, upheaval and change. It goes to the heart of human curiosity and desire to control destiny. It sits in the realm between science fiction and fantasy. One of the few books that ever deserved the reward it has received.

  • An interesting and thoughtful book.

I enjoyed this. It helps if you know the Bible and the full story of the original garden of Eden to which it alludes at times. Stranded on a planet without a sun are the descendants of Tommy and Angela, two astronauts from Earth who landed and were stranded on the planet. The society they have formed is a matriarchy based on Angela, the mother figure, which is peaceful, but they are slowly running out of resources and are not innovating. Only John Redlantern realises something is wrong and needs to change, but even he can't predict the consequences. The book kept me enthralled to the very end.

  • Good read

It took a little while to get going, but is a solid story well worth the time to read. I am looking forward to the next two parts of the trilogy.

  • Good read

Refreshing to be served such a differt story. Many will love it. Parts, for me, were a bit frustrating, but the writing is excellent. Its just down to personal taste. Very finely done
