  • Just OK

It's the usual Philippa Gregory stuff. This one is riddled with inaccuracies - tea, mittens, a Spanish name for an Italian man! Need I go on?

  • Two worlds

Gregory's deft touch with history is fully alive in this book. She explores the inequities and injustices of the 17th century with great sensitivity and insight. And a con artist is always a con artist no matter what the times. A great read.

  • Wonderfully Captivating Story!

A wonderfully engrossing story. I love Philippa's writing style which is easy to read and entertaining as well as informative. I love to learn my history through novels and Philippa Gregory never disappoints me. I have read both Tidelands and Dark Tides and thoroughly recommend these books for a great riveting read.
