  • Intelligent, masterfully-crafted murder mystery

Just like every other Agatha Christie book I have read so far, Death On The Nile is another intelligent, masterfully-crafted murder mystery with excellent character development and lush descriptions. But this time, it’s set against the exotic backdrop of the beautiful Egypt as we cruise down the River Nile with the always impressive Hercule Poirot. Christie brilliantly draws you into this compelling and complex whodunnit with an unpredictable mystery and enigmatic set of characters. Although I suppose your enjoyment of this book will depend on whether you like Poirot or not, but I love him probably just as much as he loves himself.

  • Death on the Nile

Classic Christie. A retired M.Poirot takes a holiday. Nearly all the passengers of the SS Karnak have a reason to want heiress Linnet Ridgeway dead. The jaunty style and pace of the novel helps you over look the more ridiculous elements. The fantastical plot keeps the tension high. A lot of the story is told in dialog that feels mostly quite modern and believable, although occasionally dated remarks provide an unintentional laugh. This Ebook version suffers from several words joined together in places, doesn't anybody read or spell check the document? A slightly pompous essay from Charles Osbourne is included.

  • Might not be my style

This book was mildly interesting but the writing style was not my favourite. I almost felt bored with her overly expressive descriptions and felt like the climax was disappointing with a rushed ending.
