  • Thoroughly Enjoyable

Quite the story. I picked this one because it was free and a story that involved Edgar Allen Poe intrigued me. I must say what a pleasant surprise! I could not put it down. Well written with interesting characters. I look forward to more from this series

  • Death's Door

Wow what a great story and a wonderful introduction to a new series. Ms White is an excellent writer, intelligent, compassionate and loving. I look forward to continuing her stories.

  • Didn't put it down

Edgar Allan Poe walks into a bar, The Door, in Baltimore. He thinks it's still 1849 but it's actually 2020. The bar is owned and run by Alexandra (Ren) Reynolds... A name that has applied to the bar since the 1840s. He was a racist and sexist while she is a woman of colour. They need to deal with one another while trying to find a way to send him back to his own time. I read it in one sitting (Yes, it's fairly short.)

  • A most enjoyable book.

A great story well written. This unusual take of fiction woven with reality around Edgar Allan Poe, creates an enjoyable read and hopefully is a good introduction to other books in this series, l look forward to reading more of April White.
