  • 4.2 > Two men with very different disabilities

A well-built shirtless male wearing a cowboy hat standing in front of a row of laundromat dryers makes up the cover of this book. Interesting. Bold title color and font is easily legible and visible. It was enough to make me read the synopsis, which I found very interesting. POV ~> Third person While the author does a great job at building her characters and portraying them in a positive light, while showcasing their individual struggles, I did have a hard time connecting with Adam. This is said even as a parent of an adult child that, too, suffers OCD and Anxiety/Depression. While I can intellectually understand the clinical complications, it is nearly impossible to truly understand and comprehend how difficult even the littlest things in life can be for them and for that reason alone I was at a disconnect. Denver was a little easier for me to get. Their interaction was good and felt natural. Secondary characters ranged in likability. The writing was smooth, the plot was strong, and the story flowed nicely with only minimal predictability. The conclusion was solid enough, providing a satisfactory HFN / implied HEA. While I’ve purchased a few books from Ms Cullinan in the past, this was actually the first I’ve read from her. I was pleased with the outcome and look forward to reading more from her. .
