  • Hot and Exciting

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author* I liked this. Liz was a fun character to follow in her dangerous mission, to do one last thing for a crooked man of power. She'd do anything for her older sister, a woman whose life literally threatens to hang by a thread, if she doesn't fulfill this one last thing. It should be simple to betray a man she doesn't know if it means getting her sister back, but when she enters the duke's home as a chambermaid, things start to get deliciously complicated. And that's when the struggles begin. Her dedication to family is always something sweet to see in someone, but in this romantic case, it was a constant heartache for me because every time she had something good going for her, she later shunned it, in guilt for having what her sister currently could not. Liz keeping her secrets and maintaining a certain facade was cool, but I also liked how it intrigued the expressionless duke. Marcus was a sexy man to read about, very focused and controlled (when he wasn't being distracted by Liz). His reluctance to act on the attraction added with her cautious nature (well, sorta cautious) made for a entertaining read. It was very hot and erotic between the two, and the drama, along with the feels and suspense, resulted in one very happy reader. It's a recommended read if you like things hot and exciting in a historical setting.

  • Spying for Good

London 1813 Times were full of strict rules between classes and treason against the crown. Diabolical traders will do anything for money and power. Earl of Westmore is using his station to blackmail Elizabeth Wilcox. She is set to do anything to free her sister Amanda from prison. Posing as a maid after years of comfort is a challenge for Liz as is stealing from the Duke of Montague. Both Liz and the Duke are shadowed with secrets and past tragedy. As their lives and interests coincide so does passion and the will for a happier existence. Chase brings a fine assortment of characters to care about and a longing for what will happen next in this series. No cliff hanger to speak of just hints of possibilities to come. "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martin's Press via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and my comments here are my honest opinion."

  • Loved it

'Disciplined by the Duke' by Alyson Chase is the First Book in the New Series called " The Lords of Discipline". This is the story of Elizabeth 'Liz' Wilcox and Marcus the Duke of Montague. Liz is trying desperately to save her sister who in locked up in prison for killing their father. The Earl of Westmore happen upon Liz when she was upset about her sister's imprisonment. The Earl offered to help her get her sister free if she but do a few 'things' for him. Of course Liz aggregated and did all of the illegal things he asked her to do but now the Earl has one last task for her to do. The Earl promises that this will be the last and her sister will be saved from being Hanged. The Earl wants her to steal a letter with information that will help advance the Earl. Liz is to go and work as a Chambermaid in the Duke of Montague's house...there she will steal a letter to complete her job for him. Liz was once a sheltered Lady but now she doesn't feel so sheltered. Liz's physical innocents is still there but her mental is not longer. Liz is taken back by how much Marcus does not at all appear to look like a Duke. Marcus does not dress as you would think one would and a normal Duke wouldn't be so strong. But Liz fights any feelings she has because she needs to save her sister at any cost. Marcus is a man who observes people and looks for their secrets or differences. As someone who likes questionable sexual habits he has made it a priority to know if something isn't what it seems. Liz in on of those things...she doesn't appear to be what she tries to say she is. In addition, Marcus has become fascinated by Liz and wants her...but can he have her? Liz has the goal of freeing her sister, which can only be done she thinks if she steal from Marcus to satisfy the Earl. I love historical Romance and you really don't see to many with BDSM tone to them. So this was a nice surprise...I wish we saw more of them. Overall Loved the Book...there was a few times I felt Liz might have done things differently and I really liked Marcus. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
