Don't Tell mum I work on the rigs...

An interesting read, however having worked in the mining industry myself, I felt it showed the hyperbole without some of the more mundane realities that really make FIFO work difficult. The book jumps about quite a lot so it's hard to get a sense of time passing and there are a number of typos and incorrect word usages

Do not read this on a plane - else the person next to you thinks you sre having a seizure. It is so down-to-earth funny.

    Interesting read

Books like this are not my usual choice but every now and then I like to get off the beaten path and leave my comfort zone. In this case I was rewarded by a series of experiences related by a budding raconteur from the oil industry, specifically a rig worker. There is evidence that both writer and editor need to work on their respective skills but that didn't detract from the general readability of the book. I would recommend that anyone with some curiosity about rigs and those who work on them have a go with this book. It's not overly technical and most of the stories are amusing.
