    Down our street

    It's starts of slow with a family that gets bigger by the year, the mother worked hard in the coal yard, and the husband on the docks all in the East End of London in a 2 roomed house. Every summer the family went hop picking, but then the war started and started separating them. The younger children evacuated and the older ones at home or joined up. The father died leaving the family struggling a bit, but Annie the mother got on with it. When the kids were evacuated the boys went one place the girls another. And life carried on when the bombs came Annie and her daughter went down the tube with all the other Londoners, but the new wrecked having on everyone. Now you must read the rest
