A masterpiece! What more can I say?

I first read "Dune" in my teens. It, and "Dragonflight", where Christmas presents. I remember being stunned by the breadth of the story, the imagination and detail that went into it. It left me wanting more, and luckily, there was. And it led to a life long love of science fiction.

    Dune

The best science fiction ever written, the Jules Verne of the 1960s. Have lost count of the times I have read this story over the last twenty years.

Fantastic; as much political intrigue as sci-fi

I read this some time ago, but remember thoroughly enjoying it. The elements of political manipulation were clever and often threw the story in unexpected directions. Surprisingly little sci-fi, really, being mostly set on a low-tech world. Now I'm thinking of reading the sequels.

    awesome

Awesome. The scope and cosion of a blockbuster. Not perfectly written and plotted vut what do you want? Pulp philosophy at its best.

    A great read

The book to read if you like science fiction. It's a pretty long book, but it's never boring. I can't wait to read the sequels.
