  • Awesome graphic novel

El Deafo is about Cece, a young girl whom when she was four years old, had gone deaf because of a meningitis that had gone bad. Since then, for Cece, school and making friends has always been a challenge because of her handicap. To help herself cope with her deafness, Cece imagines herself being a superhero, called El Deafo, who’s superpower is to be able to hear everything everywhere. El Deafo was just amazing! I loved it from the first page to the very last. Cece’s story is just so inspiring and her strengh and her desire to live a normal life with her handicap is just astonishing. Also, since it is a graphic novel, I read it pretty quickly and I liked it because I rarely read graphic novels, so it made a change in my reading habits. The drawings of the book were also really cute since the characters are represented as rabbits, which I think is a really good thing for a book for a young audience. But don’t get me wrong, adults can read the book, too! And they should because it is really inspiring. In conclusion, I recommend this book to everyone because one can only learn something by reading it.
