  • Too frenetic. Not believable.

Continuation of Book 1 about a present day exploration to the Amazon to try to find out what happened to a real adventurer named Percy Fawcett and his son and son's friend in 1925. Book 2 was more impossibly unlikely discoveries with strange alien beasts, a space ship, tons of gold, Amazon men and women, and action that was so frenetic that I had to just skip through a lot of it. Just too much going on. Just finding the Lost City would have been enough and would have been more believable, but the author threw in so many crazy things that my mind got numb. But I will try at least one more of his books to see if he can write one that is more believable. Copyright 2019.

  • Disappointing

The second half of a two-book series and it feels like the author got rushed or ran out of inspiration. Editing was weak and some parts were purely gratuitous as though someone wanted a pulp romance angle to steam up the pages; it fails utterly and cheapens an otherwise fair story. Beware, you may not like the “twist”, especially if you love archaeology.

  • Junk

Likely the worst unbelievable book I have ever read. Rambles on forever . I finally gave up.

  • Quite good!

I had not heard of Ben Hammott before but came across this story (book 1 actually) and gave it a try.
