    Elephant Dance

A beautiful tale, funny and inspiring at the same time. Dream big and perseverance is a good takeaway. Good read on conservation methodology and the people involved in it.

    Absolutely enthralling

I have always enjoyed reading about elephants....they fascinate me. However, Dr. Matson introduced me to elephant human conflict, something I was not aware of. The story outlines all her struggles in order to try and reduce this tragic issue. Her sheer determination is incredible and she’s devoted so much of her life to this cause. It was always an uphill battle to get approval for funding however there always seemed to be a delay in actually receiving the funds. The story is told in an informative, easy to read way without ever being boring. Her life as a conversationist is inspiring. Often, solutions were relatively “simple” after months of research and speaking with various tribes in Africa and India. To her credit, unlike many other researchers, she went back to Africa or India to let the natives know results of her research. That in part helped bring some resolution to the issues. It’s for that reason, her efforts were implemented.
