    "Empire" an Interesting Read

I much enjoyed Niall Ferguson's book on the history of empire—more specifically, the British Empire. Understandably, the book refrains from being overburdened by too many minute details about every single event in Britain's imperial history, but "Empire" at least provides the essential data to get the reader interested in exploring the subject matter further. It was sometimes hard to precisely see how Britain made the modern world while reading through the book, but Ferguson's conclusions are quite adequate in explaining the economic and political consequences of the British Empire (good and bad) and the current dilemma faced by countries today in coming to terms with the imperial past and future.
