England Age of Chivalry and Awful Diseases

I enjoy history anyway, but this blunt assessment of England during the Middle Ages was refreshing. I never really get the hearty obsession with blood sports and killing but the age of chivalry seems to have been devoted to just that. Clearly a wise and cultured king would have a hard time of it among the peers of the realm. I guess the spread of knowledge through printing added to the shortage of labour really messed up the ability to keep on waging wars.
