  • Feel good pick me up

This is another fabulous feel good read from Jo Thomas set in the the idyllic sounding Provence however with a very realistic balance of characters reflecting the more true to life population of the locals, ex-pats and less fortunate. The story features around Del who having been persuaded to move to France by her husband finds herself just six weeks later preparing for them to go home when she realises it’s not life in France that is the issue but her marriage, She finds herself with little but an empty French farmhouse and a determination to make her life in France work. I loved the thoughtfulness of this story and the theme of second chances, it’s a very optimistic read in less than perfect times.

  • A fab read

A beautiful book of rolling countryside filled with lavender boughs where each scene brought a twinkle to the eye and a smile on my face. Author Jo Thomas was brilliant in the book where she dipped her quill in the ink of hope and second chances and wrote this lilting tale of redemption and finding oneself. The book was pure happiness. I love a Jo Thomas book, and this one was mighty special. She weaved magic into her words which showered its happiness on me as I flipped the pages. The story might seem familiar, the scenes known, but the journey was new and sprinkled with inspiration. I knew nothing of how my life would be when I started this book, but I knew that the end saw me sighing, with dreams in my eyes.

  • A wonderful read that had me escaping this crazy w

I fell in love with this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ book from the first chapter, why? Because I felt it was more about forgiving oneself than trying to make something irrevocably broken work. Sometimes relationships can’t be fixed and our character’s story begins when they no longer think they have to try. Instead they live with the consequences of their decisions, and with the help of others they thrive. Jo Thomas has a wonderful way with words that has me transported to warmer climes, spending the days wondering fragrant fields, exploring and getting to know the locals, and the evenings eating and drinking the simple pleasures in life. Throw in some quirky friends and a handsome beau and I find that I’ve lost a day come crashing back into reality. A wonderful read that had me escaping this crazy world for a slower, more restorative, pace. Perfect. My thanks to my friends at #PenguinRandomHouse #RandomHouse #Transworld #Netgalley and the author @JoThomas for giving me the opportunity to read and review a copy of #EscapeToTheFrenchFarmhouse

  • Thoroughly enjoyed

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found it rather different and it brought in different elements not usually covered. The description of the countryside was very good and I could picture the area really well.
