  • A truly inspirational read for me.

"It's okay to be scared, but don't let fear keep you from going after what you want." From the moment I saw the cover for this book, I knew I had to have it. I love the way Lexi Ryan writes, I love the way she develops her characters and her story. And it was sooo good to go back to Orchid Valley again! I don't think I have enough words to describe Dean. Everyone should have a Dean in their lives. Yes, he's definitely attractive, and he's confident. And he's flawed and made some bad choices in his life. But there's more to him than just what you see on the outside. Because Dean is the ultimate good guy, with a heart of gold, who's been in love for a while but never acted on it, because, despite all that, he thought he still wasn't enough. Abbi is just an amazing character. Some readers are likely to see Abbi as one-dimensional, as just another weak-minded character who dislikes herself because she's overweight. There's so much more to her than that, and even if that were true, it takes real strength to get through every day not feeling like you're enough. So, no, weak is something she is not. And no, she doesn't need saving. She can save herself, with a nudge in the right direction and something to fight for. Abbi's wanted Dean for a very long time, but she never thought he'd give her a second look because she doesn't fit his usual choice in women. Dean's been crazy about her for years, but he thought he could never measure up to what she wanted in a man. And fate gives them both a hand in this, and shows them we all have our insecurities, but when it's right, it's just right. And their story together is incredibly sweet and amazingly beautiful, while also having the chemistry Lexi's stories always have. And there's definitely chemistry, believe me! "You're all the things you refuse to see in yourself." It's easy to see these two are meant to be together. The way they are as just friends, how comfortable they are with each other once their relationship starts to evolve, how much they trust each other, how they just fit together, and the love they share. And the way they finally understand each other and realize what they have. Both Dean and Abbi needed someone to see them for who they really are, beyond what they look like, the clothes they wear, the people they date, their pasts, what they've been through and so many other things that do not make us who we are as people. It's all about finding their love for each other, and their love for themselves. Without reservations, without holding back. This book was truly inspirational, and a reminder of the reasons why I read romance. Thank you, Lexi. For Abbi's voice and Abbi's story, which I think may resemble that of many of us, readers. It certainly resembled mine.

  • Brother's Best Friend

This is the 3rd book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. This book deals with insecurities on both sides. Dean feels he isn't good enough for a nice girl because of his father, and Abbie is a very confident girl about most things but because of past relationships, she thinks that she isn't going attract someone like Dean. I love how both had feelings for each other but were afraid to admit it. This couple went thru a lot to overcome their insecurities and find love. I love a good angsty story.

  • Fun, emotional, inspiring, and sizzling romance!

I thoroughly enjoyed this friends to lovers romance. Abbi and Dean have had crushes on each other for years, but neither felt worthy of the other. After a devistating breakup, Abbi is struggling to find the confidence she needs. She learned to be ashamed of her body instead of embracing it. Now Dean has a chance to show Abbi just how beautiful and desirable she is, even if she is incapable of seeing it herself. The more time they spend together, the more their walls begin to crumble, and they start to believe that just maybe they are worthy of each other's love. But when their pasts come crashing into their lives, will they be strong enough to trust what they have started to build together? Abbi and Dean's story was emotionally riveting and my heart broke for both of them at times. Both Abbi and Dean are wonderfully flawed characters who lack self confidence for different reasons. I swooned so hard over how Dean cared so tenderly for Abbi, helping to build her confidence. But Dean had his own demons that weren't as visible as Abbi's that were heartbreaking. Abbi is sweet and I loved her growth and determination to learn to love herself. I loved them together even when they frustrated me at times. They helped each other heal, grow stronger, and their love scenes were sizzling hot. Ryan created such rich, and well defined characters, and the feelings that she wrote were so honest and real. I love when the girlfriends get together, and how all their family and friends are fun, loyal, and unconditionally supportive. I can't get enough of this series and this group of friends. I have grown to really care for each of them. This is a fun, emotional, inspiring, and sizzling romance!

  • A beautiful romance story.

The third book in the Orchid Valley series by Lexi Ryan, Every Time I Fall is a beautifully written romance story. There's angst, insecurities, great chemistry, witty banter, and so much more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

  • loved every word

An absolutely fantastic read. This story is so real and will touch so many hearts. A story that hits home for me personally. Abbi is a beautiful woman but all she sees is her size. She judges everything by that alone. She never sees her beauty. The guys she dated saw that weakness and took advantage of it for their own purpose. They were not worth a grain of salt. So, when Dean agreed to help her with her confidence in bed, she thought his “attraction” to her was only his way of helping her. She could not understand how he could like her and think she was beautiful. With all the women he dated in the past she felt how could she compare. What she did not know was that he has been attracted to her for years. He thought that she judged him for the fact that his father left when he was young and could never be the man, she saw herself with. Both Abbi and Dean have issues they need to heal to move on. Abbi only thought about her “weight” issue and never realized that Dean was dealing with his own issues. In order for Abbi to accept what Dean was showing her she had to love herself and accept herself first. Once she saw the beauty in herself, she could allow the walls around her heart to crumble, and only then could she truly accept the love and affection Dean shows her. They both have helped each other crumble those walls. What started as a friend helping a friend benefit no turned into a forever kind of love.
