  • Amazing

Such a thought provoking and insightful book. So much of our daily lives contribute to the bigger picture that we don't even realise what we can do to change. I am changed forever

  • Thought-provoking

The tone and issues covered in this book can sometimes seem exaggerated. It is important however to read the book in its entirety before withdrawing one's conclusions as often her statements are clarified or indeed qualified later on. Her book is definitely thought-provoking and is worth reading for this reason alone.

  • Feminism for the Gen-Tech

Bates breaks down ways in which sexism plays out in multiple spheres of society. She provides accounts, interview excerpts and quotes from women who have experienced injustices in the workplace, as mothers, in relationships and other circumstances in which the patriarchal influence works toward limiting the movement, freedoms, and upward mobility of women. This is feminist reading for the tech-savvy generation. Something to give to anyone still doubting the urgency of combating gender inequality or the misogynistic undertones of objectifying media images, rape jokes and the conflation of weakness with womanhood that pervades the very language we use.

  • Groundbreaking!

Amazing, so glad the author had the guts to create this project. It really is a man's world hopefully one day it won't be. I'm fed up of experiencing harassment and feeling its my fault. No one should feel that way ever. Stand up be strong!

  • Distressing and upliftin!

This book has opened my eyes. I've gone through life blind to the awful realities of sexism and the distress it has caused women. This book reduced me to tears but also gave a surge of hope that I could help to 'move the pebbles to divert the flow'. Brilliantly written with contributions that are nothing but courageous.
