  • A breath of fresh air

I loved the flow of this book. I was able to image Frost as a young DS. I found it interesting to finally read about his wife and their interactions. All in all it was a great read for Frost fans.

  • Good in parts but let down in others

Some basic errors ruined a good book. In 1981 police officers would be equipped with Burndept personal radios and simply wouldn't be allowed to go off air as Frost so oftened did. Also, the terrorist informer was not needed (and where was he getting this highly secretive info from?). The death of the child and the swinger didn't sit well in the overall theme. A couple of proof reading errors also jarred. I will try the second book in the series and hope these minor annoyances have been dealt with.

  • First Frost.

The book does capture the feel of the tv series but to my mind has taken too much directly from an episode of it. There isn't enough that appears genuinely original although it is an enjoyable read.

  • First Frost

A good start to the Frost saga. It creates a number of back stories that put Frost into context. The grumpy belligerence and unconventional tactics shine through A very enjoyable read
