  • How I feel about First Love

Mr. James Patterson has written a number of love stories which I hold dear. The first that I read, Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, has filled a special place in my heart. Now, First Love has set its worthy place next to Suzanne's. I should have realised that First Love is as simple and as complicated as its title would be. I did not bank in on this being a love between two persons who were counting their days on earth. Its twist and turn, arising out of a story line so simple, revealed halfway through oh-so-smoothly... I was caught unaware. The fourth wall came crashing down on me the moment I realised that this love, while it was great, will go the inevitable, separate ways at the end of the pages. And it makes me cry, and smile. How did something so known come to such an unexpected, bittersweet...end? And this book let me know for sure, after pondering for a while, that Mr Patterson is my writing role model. I want to be able to give my heart to what I put on paper, and touch my readers' hearts the way he does.
