  • Brilliant yet deeply disturbing

I never thought I would pick up a book like this, which covers the topic of incest but I am glad I did. The story is more than just about incest, it's about inner turmoil and wanting what u can't have. It's about a daily struggle to survive. This book has shaken me to the core and moved me beyond words. I feel deeply disturbed yet very moved. Must read!!

  • Over-hyped

The subject of this book is its main draw card. I didn't think the writing was that amazing but the characters are very well thought out. The best part of the book for me was Maya's epilogue. It is the most raw and emotional writing I've read in a young adult book since Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick. This ended up being an okay read that suffered from terrible over-hyping. It's got so many 5 star ratings and I couldn't even justify three. It's jut an okay book with a not often done subject.

    Thanks for your feedback!
