  • What happens if you don't know who you are?

This book asks that question, and the answer isn't pretty. Government won't admit you're a real person because you don't have the government documents like birth certificates and driver's licenses. Carol finds that she's on her own, and since the law doesn't protect her, why should she obey the law? Not everyone would treat losing her identity the same way, of course, but this is a plausible story, and it asks some provocative questions about how our government treats people. Part mystery, part adventure, I found it hard to put down.

    Thanks for your feedback!
