  • Fridays Read

I loved this - the rich tapestry of life in the depression is so much better in writing than it was in the movie.

  • loved it

A fantastic yarn. I will miss them, the characters feel real. A great insight into that era and place. Also sad. Loved it.

  • Such a lovely read -one of the best comfort reads!

I love this book - I read this book years ago and recently the film was on TV so I decided to read it again and I’m so glad that I did! It’s a comfort read - and always engrossing. The story is so lovely and is a reminder of a time gone by and the values of life that are being forgotten - and how people who had nothing actually had everything- family and friends! I’ll always go back to this book to visit with Ninny, Idgie, Ruth, Big George, Smokey Lonesome and Evelyn!

    Thanks for your feedback!
