  • AWESOME!!

I freakin loved it!! It was such a fantastic read! Funny at times, sad at times and WTH parts. All was just perfect! Loved Nico and Elizabeth very much! This was a book that stayed with me during the day (work). Everytime there was a very sweet part I got butterflies that started to fly! I just love having that feeling, and when you have that you know it's perfect! Don't only read my review but also go buy the book! It's freakin awesome!

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Love works out

I loved this book and I love Elizabeth. She is the great friend in the first book in the series, Neanderthal Seeks Human, and in this book we get to know her really well. It turns out she has always believed first love is the only love--and she lost her first love when she was a teenager--no, he didn't die, he was just a meanie. So she created this persona like she was only into sex, not relationships, and lets people believe some things about her that aren't exactly true. Then she meets the first love again. It turns out some things were not as they seemed to her teenaged self. As she is learning this, she is also coming to grips with who her first love grew up to be. It is unexpected what he has done with his life. He also created a persona for everyone to believe about him, because he is a famous comedian. They have to strip away the false to get to the true, and they have to deal with what they find. I loved the dialog, there were a lot of funny, funny scenes. I really enjoyed it.

  • Getting hotter.

Continuing another story of their knitting club starring Janie's friend and her comedian boyfriend. Wow! A very hot and passionate story about caring for a young patient and also some intrigue involving a crazy jealous ex-girlfriend.

  • Favorite Knitting in the City book

I love Penny Reid's books, but I made the mistake of reading them out of order. I started by reading Truth or Beard, then listened to Beauty and the Mustache (4), Neanderthal Seeks Human (1) and Neanderthal Marries Human (1.5) before reading Friends Without Benefits, so I already knew a little about Elizabeth and Nico. (For example, I remembered reading in BatM that Nico was famous, and that he crochets.) Usually when I know that a couple is going to end up together, I'm not as interested in their story. This was not the case with Elizabeth and Nico. Theirs is so unique, and interesting, and sexy. It was so much more than a "will-they/won't-they" or "how are they going to get there" story. Their history together is heart-breaking, and the more you learn about it, the more you root for them. I devoured this book. I normally like to read books slowly, take my time, savor them. But since this is only book 2 in the series, I knew that there were many more great books in my future, so I didn't feel badly as I stayed up late and skipped my favorite show so I could stay with Elizabeth and Nico. So glad I haven't seen the last of them, and I am looking forward to more Knitting in the City!

    Thanks for your feedback!
