  • G-Men blues

An insightful book about the men in "G Company" prior to the Pearl Harbor bombing. The story is told from the perspective of the three main protagonists: Milt Warden, Robert Prewitt & Angelo Maggio. Their reasons for being in the army, their hopes, fears & motivations. The daily grind of army life and the women they love and loathe in equal measure. There are many humorous scenes as well as disturbing ones showing the darker side of the human soul. The only minus for me was that some chapters went into too much detail about company rankings, I found these parts uninteresting. Overall I enjoyed it, the book has aged well and I'd recommend it to other readers.

    Thanks for your feedback!
