  • Still worth reading

Not a classic like to kill a mockingbird but Scout has grown up exactly as I imagined her and Atticus' faults make him even more of a hero

  • Disappointed

I was, maybe unrealistically, hoping that this would be just like To Kill A Mockingbird but was seriously disappointed. I don't know, it might have been all the hype beforehand as well. I can, and have, read and reread To Kill A Mockingbird many times but I don't think this will have a second outing. I found it very hard work to read.

  • Worth the wait.

An exceptional sequel; heart-wrenching and gripping. Jean-Louise is no longer a small tree-climbing tomboy, but a grown women who is concerned for her father's mental health. Sad but a great read.

  • Go set a watchman

I was very open minded in purchasing the book, knowing that "mockingbird" should not be used as a comparison. I wasn't disappointed with the book and was taken on a history lesson of times of change politically and socially. Scout has grown into the woman I suspected that she would be.

  • A Worthy Second

Not as good as To kill a Mocking Bird. Certainly worth reading though. Sad, funny, frustrating and thought provoking. It was interesting to see the characters in a different light.
