  • Sexy and emotional road trip romance

I really enjoyed Aspen and Bram's story! Going Nowhere Fast is a standalone book, though I can't help but hope there will be more, possibly turning this into a series. I'm a big fan of the best friend's brother trope and this was also paired with another of my favourites, the road trip romance. Bramwell Gage and Aspen Phillips have a difficult beginning to their relationship. Bram disapproves of Aspen's friendship with his sister, Bethany, and isn't afraid to let everyone know it. He's very hard on Aspen, making a lot of unfair judgments on her and doing a good job of making Aspen feel pretty awful. Aspen is very independent and has a lot of pride though, and she doesn't put up with Bram's jerk behavior. This makes for a very heated hate-to-love/enemies to lovers romance. It was fun watching them decide moment to moment whether they hated or truly liked one another. The sex scenes were extremely hot and combined with the intense emotions building between them, it made this book very hard to put down. And who doesn't love a hero who has to make up for all his bad behavior in the end? Bram had to big time! This story also deals with some very real issues for all characters involved. I really liked that Bram's issues were realistically dealt with before Bram and Aspen found their HEA. My only personal issues with the story involved Bram's sister Bethany. She is dealing with some serious problems and I thought at times they were glossed over a little. Considering those issues, I don't understand why Aspen bought the graduation gift for her that she did (though because of certain circumstances did not end up actually giving to her). At times I feel like Bethany's issues were treated seriously and at other times not quite as much as I'd hoped. I know that these types of problems aren't just cured in a short amount of time. I would love to see Bethany get a story of her own, and to see how she dealt with her issues in a realistic way and to see her get a happy ending of her own. I would also love to read more about Bram's friend Murphy. I was thinking that maybe they might even end up together. Overall I really enjoyed Going Nowhere Fast. I haven't read any of Kati Wilde's MC series books yet but I absolutely fell in love with her book Secret Santa. I've definitely become a big fan! I received a copy of this story through NetGalley for an honest review.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Loved this

I really like this author and enjoyed this book. The only reason its not a 5 star read is that there were some places were i felt lost or that the story jumped and i missed something. But overall a really good read.
