  • Grand days

This is the book about the woman we would all loved to have been. Wonderfully detailed social commentary of the 1920s,30s and a richly layered story of ordinary people living very unordinary lives. There is a lot to be said for the freedoms gained by leaving the familiar behind and Frank writes about this with imaginative delight. We cheer on Edith and her friends to continue to dare to find out what they are capable of becoming.

    Thanks for your feedback!

Poignant, knowing the eventual futility of the League. Humanity writ small and large. What a read.
