  • The Guard and the Mermaid

I’m in love with the Chimera Secrets series from Eve Langlais. I love reading romance, rooting for two people to be together and find their happily ever after. I also love creepy horror monsters. She blends both of these things together so perfectly in this series! In this second installment, we focus on Becky Frederickson, whom we met in the first book. We saw her get surly and rude to her friend Meredith, and in this book we find out why. Becky has a lot going on, and even more after one of her coma patients wakes up and attacks her. Luckily, the mercenary guard, Jett, always seems to be there when she needs saving, and the two of them form an unlikely bond, that sees them through Becky’s transformation into a mermaid! I love the resolution to this book, and can’t wait to see where Langlais takes us in the next one!

  • Finding your match!

This was a wonderful pairing! These two were similar, yet opposite. They played off each other nicely and where one was cautious, the other bold, and vice versa. They also had a good banter that lead to steamier times, several of them, and one extremely hot water scene! Their feelings evolved, even catching them off guard, and while their HEA is secure, their story seems to be ‘just for now’ finished and I expect we’ll see more of them in the series 😊

    Thanks for your feedback!
