  • Hail Mary

I loved this book and it was so nice to find out about Dante. This book shows you how Dante became Dante and how through the love of a new child, family and a friends promise, he is starting to come back alive again. At the beginning of the book we see how Mary comes about between Marianne and Dante and a death bed promise. Enter Cobie who is a hot mess and has so much going on in her life it is neither funny nor fair. Dante and Cobie come together and it is explosive, I actually like Cobie's wit and she puts up with a lot from Dante (who at times can being horrifically nasty). This book has a lot of action and both characters seem to go through the ringer before they come out at a bright shiny end. As always, I would recommend you read any of the books form Lani Lynn Vale, her characters are awesome and really relate-able too. I would definitely read the Hail series so that you have some background information on Dante but this is a really enjoyable book which at times can sometimes be uncomfortable.

  • A story full of hope and love

I really enjoyed reading this book. Hail Mary is a story filled with hope, second chances and unconditional love. Dante is lost & not really living anymore. He's stuck, and won't move on from the deaths of his wife and two little girls. However, the baby girl placed on his doorstep serves to drag him back to reality much more quickly than he planned. The sub-plot woven into the story line was also made for very interesting reading. The wry humour in the chapter prefaces were entertaining. I clearly missed out on a very entertaining series by Lani Lynn Vale, and have a lot to catch up on. I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

  • Loved it

Hail Mary was a great 5 star read. This is the most emotional read from the series for me. We get to read Dante’s story. He has such a heartbreaking loss that he is having troubles moving forward from until a one night stand with Marianne that gives him a baby on his doorstep. Mary is a new light in his life. Marianne asks Dante to watch over Cobie and keep her safe. Cobie gets some news that once again turns her world upside down. She isn’t sure if she can go through the fight again, she is so tired. When Dante shows up at Cobie’s house he seems familiar to her, she later realizes where she has seen him before. There is something about him that draws her right in. Dante is great with Cobie, he is determined to help her and keep his promise to Marianne. We find that Marianne’s husband has some shady things going on. Can Dante keep Cobie and Mary safe? There is so much more to this great read. I really loved Dante and seeing this side of him really drew me in. He was such a broken man and his loss is so heartbreaking, reading this helped me understand the man from the other books in the series. Cobie has also been through heck and back and still finds herself in a battle for her life. I was tired of fighting. Tired of losing. I wanted some peace. Cobie is a strong, brave and beautiful character and I loved her. If you are looking for a great series than I highly suggest you 1-click and get started with Hail Raisers you will love it. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Reviewed by MAustin from Alpha Book Club

  • Amaze-balls!

Every single time I pick up a Lani Lynn Vale book I’m guaranteed to not be able to put it down until I’ve finished it. This one was no different. I loved the way the two characters kept a lot of their own independence even when they were falling for each other and learning to lean on one another. No one became clingy or heavily dependant on the other. I loved learning more about Dante and his past and also how the women in his life helped him see the light, so to speak. This is 100% worth reading! As is the rest of the series!!!

  • Great Story, I'm Hooked!

This is the first time I have read a book from this author, and now I’m hooked and realise I have a lot of reading to catch up on. As this was my first read it didn’t take me long to pick up this author very distinctive writing style and I was away. The fact I hadn’t read any of the Hail series did not detract from my enjoyment of this book. I assume you have read some of the blurb, Dante is heartbroken over the loss of wife and children in a car accident some years previously and was still in deep mourning when a Mary is delivered by her mother who is on the brink of dying. Mary is only a baby, and needs all his love and attention. Marianne who was Mary’s mother only best friend Cobie is having a bad time and Dante steps in to help, and whether he likes it or not begins to join the living again. Dante fights his feelings for Cobie with all his strength. This is also an action packed storyline running through the book, with many twists and turns so I am not giving anything away. I will say this books takes place over a couple of years so we get to know the characters well, and Dante definitely becomes my hero. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and thoroughly recommend it. Now I off to read some of the others.
