  • Clever Australian mystery

Headland is a smart, well-paced mystery which kept me turning the pages. Murdoch is an extremely interesting anti-hero, as he struggles to leave behind his life of crime. The Australian setting was superbly realised, and every character felt like an old friend - very believable. I look forward to the rest of this series.

  • Better than I expected!

I wasn't sure when I first started reading the book but the major character and the story started to pull me in. Bill is definitely not your typical hero as he tries to start a new life leaving his former life of crime behind in spite of other characters trying to draw him back in. I really liked the other characters as well as the Australian setting!
