  • Its beat means love

An amazing book. Aidan has lived a seemingly blessed and fancy-free life but that comes back to bite him when he neets Lia and his reputation precedes him. Lia's protective mothering of Emily becomes understandable when you read about Emily's situation and the reasons why Lia moved to Baytown. Once Aidan realises Lia is the one, then the change in him is a complete turnaround and that is something that has been, for us readers, well worth waiting for. In every book in this series so far Ms Jordan has made sure we are privy to each hero's counselling session. In doing this she has been able to stress how valuable the support is; this is further underlined when an older veteran is given the opportunity to speak at each American Legion meeting. Through the series we have heard from WWII and Vietnam veterans and their stories of the lack of support when they came home only serve to remind us of the importance of counselling. In this series the AL has given back to the community that supports it through the baseball leagues and there is real magic in the scene where all the coaches get together to ensure that Emily can take part in the 5-7 year league to the fullest. Of course there is a crime to be solved and I have to say that the takedown was undoubtedly the most satisfying of the series.

    Thanks for your feedback!
