  • Missing man

This is the book that got me hooked on the Harland County series and I am glad for the opportunity to revisit it, but this time in its place in the series and not as a stand-alone in an anthology. Kade and Brandi's relationship takes a long time to resolve, with his hot and cold attitude related to a form of survivor guilt. Ms Michaels uses this book to highlight the desperate need for better than barely adequate support systems for military veterans, something which is not limited to the situation in the US. Through Brandi Ms Michaels also highlights the effect of negative body image on the emotional well-being of women who are constantly criticised by those who profess to care. For me tbe most moving aspect of this book is when Brandi, a world-class violinist, plays Adagio for Strings at the Missing Man Table, such a moving gesture that speaks of love and loss. I'm not surprised that this book won awards.

  • Love the title defines the book

Wow hot romance with a lot of action in the heart and soul searing aches. The story brings to life what life really is for some, but there is laughter and family love to round it all out. Must read!

  • Fabulous book.

Reading hundreds of books a year, I rarely write reviews. I just usually move on to the next book. I make exceptions however when a book is really well written, the author deserves it. This books tongue and cheek dialogue had me laughing and crying within minutes of the script. The character development was authentic, real and relate able. Keep up the good work, I'll be looking for this author's work in the future.

  • Her uniform cowboy

I really enjoyed this book. I love cowboy books in general but had not read any of the previous ones in the series, but I found it easy to pick up. I would definitely go back and read the others.
