  • Heresy

I deliberately selected this book as it is the first in a series. I bought the rest of the series before I had finished reading 'Heresy'! Based upon a real historical person - you can read about his life in Wikipedia - S.J. Parris weaves a fascinating plot which grips you to the end. During your journey you can smell, see, and taste Tudor Oxford and experience life as it was lived in those days. A gripping story with superb historical detail and background.

  • Good historical story

It has been said before.. If you have ran out of CJ Sansom books try this. I have started the second book and its a quicker pace. This one introduces the characters.

  • Great read

Though a novel, much period background and history are entwined. Light reading yet the literary efficiency is superb.

  • Heresy

Very readable but not as good as CJ Samson's books on that period

  • Holy war in Elizabethan Oxford

Really great engaging story. Centred around the holy war of catholics and protestants. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
