    Ok but felt disappointed

Writing style good and strong but situations were just that little bit ‘are you kidding me’ and it felt like they fell into this relationship very quickly which felt unbelievable, some of the themes regarding bullying were good but story felt rushed

    Cute and fun

The blurb is such that I wasn't sure what I was going to get so when it landed on my e-reader I opened it up just to see.  And didn't put it down until I was done!  I loved goofy, sweet, fun Raleigh.  From the very first page (and the subsequent awkward encounter with Ezra) I wanted to be bestest, life-long friends with her.  Klutzy, funny, and awkward, Raleigh will win your heart and you'll be cheering when she finally gets her guy.   I will saw there were a few times that I wanted to smack Ezra on the head.  He's either totally clueless or a bit of an *ss because he let another women get a little too handsy with him.  More than once after starting a relationship with Raleigh.  I get that maybe he didn't realize the signals that Raleigh might be picking up but after the first time it made her huffy I would have thought that he'd get a clue.  Outside of that, though, I found him to be a pretty good guy.  He takes care of the guys on his team and his family.  And wants he sees Raleigh he's ready to take on anything she needs him to.   While this is a more light-hearted book overall, it isn't afraid to tackle some harsher topics when it needs to.  This is only the second book by Vale that I've read, but it's not going to be my last.  (Lord Have Mercy, the next book in this series, is out soon and I'm already trying to figure out how to get my hands on it!) **Review given honestly and freely after receipt of a reader copy. This opinion is completely my own and was not influenced in any way.**

Review: Southern Gentleman 1: Hissy Fit

Hissy Fit by Lani Lynn Vale is the first book in her Southern Gentleman series. First in a series of inter-connected standalone's set in a small town, this story is of one woman's long time crush finally seeing her for the first time and all the small-town drama that evolves from their connection. Raleigh has had a longtime crush on Ezra, has worked at the same school with him for a few years, but it seems that this year is THE year he finally notices her. With all her clumsiness on display, he is entranced with this woman. Ezra was the popular captain of the football team in high school, all-star, great guy that realizes he was an oblivious idiot in his younger years when he finally takes notice of the beautiful teacher that has to take over teaching his sex-ed class so he can focus on coaching. Not realizing that they were in school together and that he should know her, he sets his sights on her, drawn to her clumsy, gorgeous ways like he never has been before. Well-written and well-paced, this story has all the awesomeness of a typical Lani Lynn Vale book without as much of the danger that is sometimes prevalent for some of her characters. The audio is sexy as sin with Ava Erickson and Jacob Morgan bringing these characters to life. Loved it! Enjoy!

A fabulous beginning to a new series!

My first though about this books was "Yay, a brand new series by an amazing author! I can't wait to get started!" Second thought was, "Wait. What? Southern Gentlemen?!? That's not what we do! We have bad boys, and we like them!" I have to say, I pouted a bit, thinking that a gentleman could never match up the LLV's boys, then I got over myself, and started reading. And boy, was it a ride! Different? Sure. But I couldn't help but love this story! Ezra and Raleigh were such a cute couple! And absolutely perfect for each other! Raleigh is a teacher, in a small southern town. Everyone knows everyone, everyone went to school together, and everyone knows everyone else's business, good and bad! She teaches high school in her home town, and wouldn't have it any other way. But, simply put, Raleigh is a menace! As sweet and likable as she is, she's beyond clumsy! It's like she has a little black rain cloud over her all the time, and Murphy sits on her shoulder, waiting to embarrass her. But she also considers herself invisible, a wallflower, someone who sits on the sidelines of life, watching it go by. Until, one day, her clumsiness puts her front and center, right in front of the man that has had her attention forever, the same man who never even knew she existed! Ezra is THAT guy! You know the one I'm talking about. He was the star football player in high school and college, then returned to his hometown to be the Football and Baseball Coach and most loved teacher. Literally, everyone loves him! But he is absolutely clueless! But that is what makes him so lovable! And when he realizes what is right in front of him, things go from 0 to 100! (I love insta-love!) If I could sum this book up in one though, it's that while Fate works in mysterious ways, she also works in her own time. Raleigh and Ezra grew up together, their entire lives, going to school together, being in classes together, and nothing ever happened. Until one day...... It's absolutely crazy how things work out, but it sure makes for a fantastic story! I absolutely loved the connection between Ezra and Raleigh, how perfect they were together, how they balanced each other out, and how real they were! Neither were over the top bada**es, like you see in a lot of stories, but there was a level of realism, of sincerity and truthfulness to them that took this story to another level. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book, and how I'm eagerly anticipating the next story! (On a side note, I totally adored Morgan, and hope we see more of him in the future, Maybe he will get his own HEA?!? )
