  • Gripping story

I have read all the featuring Tom Wilde and they are excellent. The detailed description of the fear of the Nazi era is very real.

  • Loved it!

Tom Wilde is sent to Nazi germany from the UK to pick up a package. Little does he know however, that the package is actually a ten year old girl called Klara and the gestapo are very keen to eliminate her. Through multiple points of view we are gripped in the thrill of a chase as Tom tries to get the girl safely out of the country with danger snapping at their heels every step of the way. I thought this novel was brilliant. I feel like a lot of research must have gone in to the writing and it is the kind of thriller that just has you gripped from the very beginning. I especially loved the different points of view and seeing how close the race was. I will definitely be looking at Rory Clements other novels in the future.

  • A thrilling read

This is set in World War 2 and the main character Tom Wilde is a Cambridge Professor who goes undercover as an American Businessman with German heritage to obtain a 'parcel' from Germany. A wild chase begins as Nazis chase after it too. I wasn't sure if I wanted to read a book entitled 'Hitler's secret' but I'm glad I got the opportunity to read this thriller about war and espionage. The author has done a lot of research into the Nazi characters, especially of Adolf Hitler and Martin Boorman to make you understand them. He has also provided enough dialogues as well as descriptions to engage his readers. It makes you think about films of war and those with spies. I was intrigued about what is going to happen next and it was surprisingly a worthwhile read.
