  • Contemporary Romance - Mystery

Hometown Girl by Margaret Watson Into the Storm #6 Excellent story that, I believe wraps up this series...unless...the men on the mission in the prologue end up having a reunion someday. Claire Kendall couldn’t wait to get out of Monroe and once she did she didn’t look back. Sure, she stayed in touch with her mother and sister but she had no desire to go back to the town she was miserable in. When her Claire hears of her sister’s death she is there for her nephew, Nick, as soon as possible. She has a plan that does not include staying in Monroe...but that is not Nick’s plan and as his mental health takes priority she agrees to stay...for awhile. When Nick comes home wanting to join the high school football team she is not in favor – not even a little bit. After meeting Coach Tucker Hall she begins to consider the idea and Nick does get to be on the team. When Nick mentions that he doesn’t believe his mother’s death was an accident it opens a can of worms that more than one in town wants to keep the lid on and t hat means trouble for Claire. What I liked: * Claire – her love for Nick is inspiring. I also liked her strength and ability to handle herself with difficult men. * Tucker – my, oh my...a good man and a fun one that I think is perfect for Claire. * Nick – what a challenge his life has been. Losing his mother and wanting to fit in and not knowing what will happen in his life as he goes forward is a heavy load for a fifteen year old. I like him – maybe he can have a book of his own in the future? * The romance between Tucker and Claire – there is instant attraction but they let it simmer for a bit and that is good – and their conversations put a smile on my face more than once. * The slow realization of Claire that Monroe as an adult is different than it was when she was a child...or her perception of it is * That Claire and Tucker had Nick’s best interest at heart * All of it really...except… What I didn’t like: * The ruthless killer – what a creep! * Hmm...can’t think of anything else :) Did I like this book? Yes Would I read more books by this author? Definitely Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

  • Looking Beyond The Past...

I am such a fan of Margaret Watson's books! They are full of real life issues and touching emotional journies! The characters, Claire, Tucker, and Nick all have issues or obstacles to overcome. Their journey to a HEA is rocky at times, but in this touching tale, you see them overcome their pain together... Great moments within the book that pulled me in! Loved the bit of mystery within the story too! Left me smiling!

  • Hometown Girl, Great Story

Book six in the Into the Storm series a well written story with a very good story, that was one sick villain. Claire Kendall comes back to Monroe to get her nephew Nick and take him back with her to Chicago after his mother's death. Nick does not want to go he is doing well on the high school football team that is taught by Tucker Hall. These three will have a lot to overcome before they can be together. There is suspense, drama, danger, kidnapping, murder, a villain, secrets, and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • A Delightful Addition to a Wonderful Series

You know the story’s good when you hate to see it end. This is a wonderful love story with all the perfect elements. There’s the hometown girl returning to the last place she ever wanted to be, the broody teenager trying to cope with the loss of his only support, and the hunky hero who has his own demons to overcome. Add in a tragic loss that brought them all together, suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, mysterious and threatening activity, and hot, hard to fight chemistry, all enveloped in a small town atmosphere, and you have the perfect recipe for a engaging, intriguing story you’ll find hard to put down. It’s a delightful, tug at your heartstrings romance that’s a perfect addition to an absolutely amazing series. You don’t want to miss a single word!!
