  • Honor Avenged

My rating: 4 stars! Wow ...I think I just found my next new author to read! Her novel Honor Avenged was non-stopped action, drama, angst and emotion from the first page to the last! My only complaint was that there was a cliff hanger and opening to a next book! That being said, I think I am sold enough to look into Ms Burrows past books! I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest and unbiased review

  • 4.5⭐ An utterly gripping suspenseful story

Honor Avenged was an utterly gripping story. That was packed full of action, twists, suspense, heat, grief, intrigue and edge of your seat moments. Basically everything you would expect in a romantic suspense story, and it was a joy to read. But boy did my heart break at times for not only Marcus, but Leah and her children, especially Maya. Would definitely recommend!! And I can't wait for Ian's story. 🙂 **I was kindly provided with an ARC via Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**

  • Loved!

LOVED this book! This is fast paced romantic suspense at its best. After Leah's husband's funeral, his best friend kissed her, then ghosted her. While he wallowed in his grief and guilt, Leah struggled to raise her three children and transition through all the changes necessitated by her husband's death. Leah has resented HORNET and the role it played in her husband's death, so when she is attacked by mercenaries and has no idea why, she seeks out Marcus, then is dragged into HORNET. What follows is a tightly woven story that I couldn't put down. I found myself turning pages just as quickly as possible because I couldn't wait to see what came next, but yet was sorry when it ended. I've loved every book in this series and am already looking forward to the next one. This is a stand alone novel, however it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. If I could give this one more than five stars, I would. The author is on my must read authors' list.

  • High octane romance

I enjoyed this book and found it captured my attention from the very beginning. There is plenty of fast paced action but I especially enjoyed the intrigue and investigative aspects of the book. Quite violent at times and I wasn't always comfortable with their actions, yet I could understand why they reacted that way. This was a slow burn romance. Marcus is full of self loathing and blames himself for his best friends death. He also hates that he is falling for his widow, but when Leah finds herself in danger, he's compelled to do anything in his power to protect her. Meanwhile Leah is doing her best to take care of her family and survive in the wake of her husband's death. At times I wanted to shake the two of them, especially when they didn't talk about how they were feeling and shut themselves down. I was so glad when they were finally honest with each other. This is book 6 in the HORNET series; I hadn't read any of the prior books however was able to follow along just fine. I do have some catching up to do though, as now I want to know the other team members stories! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

  • Fantastic Romantic Suspense

Really enjoyed this book! I need to go and read the first five in the series now. I have read the first in the spinoff series (HORNET: Class Alpha) and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was mention and appearances by many of the HORNET crew in that book so I didn't feel lost reading book 5 in this series. This story will pull at your heartstrings. A widow and the dead husbands best friend. The guilt one feels over his death. The struggle of finding ways to move on after the death of a beloved husband. Add in an FBI informant, mercenaries trying to kill you, a mercenary you don't know whether to trust, kidnapping, a crazy doctor, a mysterious villain and more and you have one fantastic suspense! There's also a romance brewing where one tries to deny their feelings, a hot shower scene and finally some for two deserving people. The story will have you turning the pages, wondering WHO, laughing and possibly crying....have tissues ready for the epilogue. *sigh* So good. I'm looking forward to when I have enough free time to devour the previous books in this series. I received an advance reader copy for an honest review.
