4 Star Hour of the Wolf

Noah Wulfenbach has been vigilant in his caring for his mate, sitting beside her tree, talking to it but now she’s back and his relief is matched only by his desire to drag the feisty dryad to his house to complete their mating bond. Iva is ready to make for lost time, curious and excited to find out just how firmly she’s tied to Mr. Tall, Dark and Growly. But before they can explore the depth of their connection they have to kill the most powerful of demons…or die trying. ‘Maggie’s Grove is the place to be… the strong, solid characters are easily connected to and draw readers into their story which is full of passion, strength, loyalty and a willingness to fight evil. The romance between Noah and Iva is sweet with lots of powerful chemistry but their relationship has started off with trouble which they must overcome before they can hope to fulfill their destined bond. This keeps emotions and passion flowing from the pages as readers become enthralled with this couple. The plot is fast paced and a bit complex with lots of suspense and excitement and readers can’t help but continue to turn the pages until they have read every last word. The battle with the Van Helsings is an ongoing one, so the story is best read in sequence for complete understanding of the character relationships and the nuances of the conflict but the story is still quite enjoyable if readers haven’t read them. This series is full of wonderfully unique and fascinating characters in a vivid and entertaining world that readers can’t get enough of and this one is a powerful and exhilarating reading experience.

    A heart-pounding PNR mystery!

Having read the other books in this series (and re-read them all several times!), I had absolutely no doubt at all that I would enjoy this book. That being said, even I was unprepared for how truly epic this book was going to be! While each book has it's own story, there is also a larger story, that continues from book to book, a supernatural mystery that builds to a grand crescendo in Hour of the Wolf. Ivy is one of the ruling dryads in Maggie's Grove, a town inhabited by supernaturals and those that support them. But recently, something dangerous has been stalking those inhabitants, trying to destroy their way of life, attempting to eradicate them all. Ivy is trying to recuperate after a run in with those same ones left her broken and damaged, but not destroyed. With the help of her Sacred Yew, she is reclaiming her life, her strength, and is ready to move on with her mate. Noah is the Supreme Alpha of the werewolves of Maggie's Grove. He, too, has experienced his own share of sorrow. He has been patient, waiting for his mate to be ready to accept him. But past that, there is still danger, threatening them all, waiting for a weakness to present itself to be exploited. This book is the long awaited conclusion to the Maggie's Grove series. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. There is a beautiful, pure connection between Noah and Ivy, one that strengthens them both when they need it most. While each book has its own story, there is also a heart-pounding paranormal mystery that begins with the first book, and continues with each book after. Anyone who loves PNR will surely love this book, this entire series! It was so good, I already want to go back to the first book, and read them all again!

    4th of Maggie’s Grove

Cons: -1*s... I fully admit that most of it was because I had to wait four years for this book. Iva and Noah were not as... scarred as I was expecting, and a good bit of the beginning was a “previous on Maggies Grove” episode, which made it feel slightly forced as we got started. Felt shorter than the previous books, due to balancing the romance and conflict storylines. Pros: Once you get past the first few chapters, its a lovely romp through the wild, weird and wonderful that is MG. A solid addition to the series and a heart warming completion to the VH storyline. (Because there is the distinct impression more awaits this little town.) Its sweet, its spicy, and this couple is more... integrated with the town due to Noah’s position, so you get more “real life in MG” moments. Overall: If you liked any of the rest of the series, get it, read it! If you like satisfying Paranormal Romance, I’d recommend the series 100% (but start with the first book, yeah?).
