  • Always enjoyable

I love the Tony & Carol series (though the earlier books I feel are much better than the later), and thus didn't disappoint in being able to see them at work again. I find that this book, like many the the later part of this series, has a few too many characters. I still enjoyed the story, and the quality of writing is significantly better than others. However, I found myself rushing through some parts eager to get back to the pov of the characters I like best. This book did leave me wondering if, should the series continue, we might get back to the days if fewer povs. I certain hope so and look forward to the next installment (if there is one - who knows these days).

  • How the dead speak

Enjoyed it, read it in one long session, but found the structure a little disjointed. Some of the new characters in the police team not as interesting as in the past. Certainly not put me off looking forward to the next in the series.

  • How the dead speak

Another great read. I lost a lot of sleep over this one. Once more the familiar characters came to life. With a little les emphasis on the actual murders the politics of modern day policing were highlighted. As in many organisations the budget and those with their own careers in mind are a salutary reminder of the reality of policing.

  • Interesting

Not as character driven as previous tales, but so good to see the team together
